Left Dover. Viki was working in the afternoons using her mobile phone which made these last three days quite tricky! Because of this we got a hotel last night in Dover and also tonight near Gravesend.
We quickly realized that bike touring in England (or at least that which we’re being exposed to) is absolutely atrocious compared to the rest of Europe. Roads are narrow, they have narrow shoulders if any, and cars are aggressive. Our route tried to take us through a farmers field and then instead on a major motorway.
We made a detour to the historic city of Canterbury, where we took a quick look at the cathedral from afar and hade a bite to eat.
We then continued our cycle, booked a hotel at lunch and found pork pies on offer as our introduction to British food. I slept in the bed while Viki worked late into the evening on her phone.
